Horses. One of my faourite animals of all time.
Spirit was a fun movie. I was looking up screencaps for icons and came across this one.
The layout of the picture also suited the way I arranged all my icons on the desktop
It's not distracting. Which is a very good thing.
The colour scheme is also nice. Not too bright.

You know how sometimes people on your friendslist post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy the topics below, erase my answers and put yours in their place, and then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration. One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out. (:

Imagine that you have a time machine. Which deceased musician would you most want to travel back in time to watch perform live?

As people have said, Mozart. But I'll add Beethoven, Chopin, Stravinsky and Tchaikovsky to the list. Maybe even Berstein, whin he first conducted the New York Philharmonic.

And while I'm at this, let's mention the idget who's SMOKING IN THE REZ! *HISSSSSSSSS*

Fiddling in the rain
Days are getting colder, and upon waking up this morning and a single glance out the window, all I hear is Michael Buble crooning "A Foggy Day in London Town"

Lyrics:
I was a stranger in the city
Out of town were the people I knew
I had that feeling of self-pity
What to do? What to do? What to do?
The outlook was decidedly blue
But as I walked through the foggy streets alone
It turned out to be the luckiest day I've known

A foggy day in London Town
Had me low and had me down
I viewed the morning with alarm
The British Museum had lost its charm
How long, I wondered, could this thing last?
But the age of miracles hadn't passed,
For, suddenly, I saw you there
And through foggy London Town
The sun was shining everywhere.

Writer's Block: Instant attraction

Rose book

Do you think romantic chemistry is instant or evolving? Have you ever given someone a second (or third) chance and lived to regret it? Have you ever fallen in love with someone you didn't particularly like or desire at first?

View Answers

Both. But the type that evolves will typically last a lot longer, and mean a lot more. Hence great literature.

Writer's Block: Would you talk to the dead?

  • 31st Oct, 2009 at 11:04 AM
Hound

Have you ever participated in a seance? If not, would you consider it? What spirit would you summon and what question would you ask them? Do you believe we can get messages from the dead?

View Answers

No, though the history of seances are really, really interesting. So many fake psychics, and their tricks in order to make it seem that there are spirits or ghosts there. Knocking the table with a knee being a rather common one.

I think it would be fun in theory, but not very practical. It's not like any dead people has ever come back to tell us what's on the other side. In fact, it's probably better not knowing.

As to messages from the dead? Yep, those can happen. Just look up real life ghost stories with relatives recieving messages from dead family members with instructions or warnings. In fact, Banshees are said to be the spirits of drowned women who wail around the houses of people who are going to die, or experience tragedy.

Writer's Block: Forgive and forget?

  • 26th Oct, 2009 at 3:56 PM
Rose book

Do you tend to forgive and forget or hold grudges? What is the longest you've ever stayed angry with someone? Is there anything the other person could say or do to win back your friendship and trust?

View Answers

Forgive? Definitely. Forget, not so well. Which means that if you repeatedly make me angry with you, you rack up a lot of annoyance, and that I'm more likely to get angry faster the next time. Exceptions to teasing, bad days and general idiocy. Especially some topics, cause really, it's just too easy and we're all allowed to have bad days. And there will be retribution in the form of pointed looks, or teasing.

For that, only time can tell. With the exception to my parents and really close friends.

Celtic Zodiac

September 2- September 29 - "Moon of Celebration"

Because it is a plant that requires constant attention and caring, the Vine has came to be regarded as the symbol of spiritual initiation and sacred knowledge. Sacred to the deities, the fruit of the Vine, the grapes (more precisely the wine made out of them) was the mark of speaking the truth and releasing all inhibitions. Remember the Romans' "in vino veritas". Prophets used wine to stimulate and enhance their visions and reach the deep inner selves. In the Ogham alphabet, the Vine is also known as 'The Weaver', because of its tendency to entangle others, bringing two together. To the Celts, this symbolized the importance of respecting others and their opinions.

The approximate equivalent of the Vine sign in the Western/European zodiac is the Libra (September 23 - October 22).

Writer's Block: So funny I forgot to laugh

  • 23rd Oct, 2009 at 1:11 PM

If a friend cracks a corny joke, do you force yourself to laugh politely? What about if it's your boss or teacher? Do you get annoyed if someone else pretends to be amused?

Submitted By [info]maxwearsboots

View Answers

No. Though smiling and head shaking may be in order, depending on how it was intended. Puns are an automatic "No, you didn't!" Unless the total joke goes over my head, but that's cause I'm oblivious.

If it's a boss, or teacher... hmm, pretty much the same thing, but puns generate eye rolling or other less noticable cues.

Again, no. Their life, their problem. It could just mean that they're easily amused.

You are The Wheel of Fortune

Good fortune and happiness but sometimes a species of
intoxication with success

The Wheel of Fortune is all about big things, luck, change, fortune. Almost always good fortune. You are lucky in all things that you do and happy with the things that come to you. Be careful that success does not go to your head however. Sometimes luck can change.

In Life's name and for Life's sake, I assert that I will employ the Art which is its gift in Life's service alone, rejecting all other usages. I will guard growth and ease pain. I will fight to preserve what grows and lives well in its own way; and I will change no object or creature unless its growth and life, or that of the system of which it is part, are threatened. To these ends, in the practice of my Art, I will put aside fear for courage, and death for life, when it is right to do so -- till Universe's end. I will look always toward the Heart of Time, where all times are one, where all our sundered worlds lie whole, as they were meant to be."

- Diane Duane

Let us read and let us dance- two amusements that will never do any harm to the world. - Voltaire

You must understand the whole of life, not just one little part of it. That is why you must read, that is why you must look at the skies, that is why you must sing, and dance, and write poems, and suffer, and understand, for all that is life. - Unknown
